Freakonomics

Freakonomics is a book and a subsequent field of study that combines economics with unconventional and offbeat topics. It was written by Steven D. Levitt, an economist, and Stephen J. Dubner, a journalist. The term “freakonomics” itself is a combination of the words “freak” (meaning unusual or unexpected) and “economics.” The book was first published in 2005 and quickly became a bestseller. Since its publication, “Freakonomics” has spawned a series of sequels, podcasts, and even a documentary film.
